steph @ 5/25/2004 12:39:00 AM Sunday, May 23, 2004 hm...well..cant remember wat have i been doing actually..basically nua-ing.. oh yeh!!! tt day went shopping with huiyi n win~!!hee..i forgot how fun it is shopping with girls!!haha...coz i long time no shopped liaoz n the last time i shopped was only a brief while with aoz..n yeh yeh..its totally diferent shopping with a guy n gals..hahaha...fun fun!!!must go shop again nxt time gals... hm..today me went to do a canvassing...damn shagged...coz gotta wake up early...n i had a bbq last nite hwich ended late..hee.its fun to get together with those 2d rascals..haha.. anyway..wahz...the event is a cycling event..so just stand there be marshalls..sianz...haiz but at least cleared my canvassing with yet another 25$...reached changi the saf jetty early...watched planes n also managed to catch the sunrise..rather fast thoguh the sun pop whole thing come out liaoz...den its hot hot hot...planes..haha watched them glide n land gracefully on the flyway...i wan to take plane...so old liaoz haven take plane nor train..haiz...oh well.. anyway..was supposed to attend a seminar today...but coz the event ran late i gotta miss it...better so lahz coz aft tt i was feeling damn sick...headache again...but still..thankz to alfie once again me got back to woodlands where i so stupidly deicded to go aoz house...slept there like a pig...totally concussed..think i even scolded him loh for trying to wake me up to eat n to take medicine.....haha..oPps...sorry~~ anyway aft a refreshing sleep,im back to my feet...so here m i blogging..but tired nevertheless..hm..tmml shud i go swim??hee..c how ba..haiz haiz..many things to think ar~~~~ steph @ 5/23/2004 11:00:00 PM Wednesday, May 19, 2004 well..yesterday me went back to sch to book nanyang house function rm den swam wif tomy adrain n edwin den we went jp..headache arz..but still watched troy..haiz cant enjoy the show...anyway...the show's damn nice!!!haha...n yeh as mimi said...the passion in brad pitt's eyes was like..whoa~~haha..i totally understand wat she meant by wanting to be loved and wan to be in love..hee...i believe tt a relationship no matter how long at least have some honeymoon periods sometimes..like le n jie's relationship..seriously speaking, le taught me some stuff abt relationship..she pointed out tt alhtough her relationship wif jie is almost the same length as me n aoz, she really make it a pt to like keep it honeymoon-ing periods 1..aWwww...its like no matter how long a relationship is,it should not be stagnant...surprises,sweet stuff although is less with time passes, but it shud n must be there in trace anount to keep the whole thing going...hm... anyway zian sent me home coz i was feeling damn bloody sick..headache again..ughh...contacts lah i duno hwich is left which is right..mixed them up during tioman..damn...anyway i was telling him tt aoz is starting to complain tt i dun have time for him le..n well he made me understood some things...tt well as a NS guy they dun have much time le..aiya basically wat aoz said lahz..haha..its me lohz i need to hear it frm another person only den to understand n liao jie wat aoz is saying 1...haiz bad thing lahz...anyway another pt which i made to zian last nite is tt..whoa my bf had better have a car siaz..haha..coz i cant rely on zian to fetch me whenever im sick..hee...saying which..i puked once i hit home..almost din make it to the toilet..mis-aimed though..some on the floor some in the toilet bowl...yuckz~!!! FRM TIOMAN!!!!! hahaha...tts the NTU SPORTS CAMP PROGRAMMERS RETREAT 1!proudly organised by our programmers andy and shifeng and with lotsa help frm colin n of course all the support from programmers!=) Day 1 (early fri morning...) me woke up at 5 like tt to share cab with 3 others to go to lavander where the bus is departin..ughhh...dilly dallying...den we borad into bus...2 mini bus we spilt ...den we travelled back to woodlands..damn..haha..n den to the checkpt...after clearing the checkpt, we went on our way..stopped for awhile at a petrol kiost wherer we can get to eat a long n thin sussage highly recomended by colin...nah..i din eat tt..haha... on our way we go..destination is mersing where we'll take a boat to tioman.bus journey was...hm..dunno how long la...abt 3 hrs??..anyway took a short nap on the bus...den reach the jetty...yeahz!!!!finnaly...closer to tioman le!the boat ride was quite bumpy..but fun..hahaha..its like u noe the jurong town hall rd the near PJ last time there got a road with a slope?den when bus or cars go pass got the WoooOoh feeling?multiply tt by MANY MANY times, n the boat ride is that...hahaha... den we reached tioman!!!!the island was quite big..so it took quite some time to get to our beach...the salang beach. ***some extract frm colin who got it frm a webby**** Salang is the most northerly-located village at Tioman and currently preferred by most of the travelers. This might be because of the very nice beach, the little bit of nightlife (that you would find only here in Tioman) and the nearby diving sites. It is adjacent to Monkey bay and Tulai Island and therefore a preferred destination for snorkeling and scuba diving. Accordantly there are a lot of accommodations and restaurants now in Salang. You can also find some mini markets, 4 dive operators and a few souvenir shops. For some travelers it's even too crowded and they prefer to go to a more secluded beach like Air Batang or Juara. Salang is divided in two parts by a new big concrete jetty and by the inflow of a freshwater lagoon. Around the jetty you can find the most crowds, coz here are the restaurants and bars. Of course almost all resorts also have their own restaurants. In the northern part of Salang behind the Salang Indah Resort it is more quite and accommodation cheaper. However most of the resorts are located southerly of the jetty (due to the best beach here) beyond the lagoon, in which you can watch day and night dozens of up to two meter long monitor lizards. These shy impressive lizards could be found everywhere in Tioman, even though not so heaped like here in Salang. You have a fantastic view on the bay from the verandas of Nadia' Inn big wooden houses. A wooden footbridge over the rocks at the southern end of the beach leads out to the houses on the hill. The management of the resort didn't get any permission for the operation and so the almost finished huge hotel construction has decayed now for several years. ***** yupz..the waters is like damn clear...green blue...greenish blue...blue..even pink sometimes...whoa!!!damn nice!!!can see the corals n reefs and fishies frm the jetty...whoa!!!!!!!added on to the excitement...hahaha...the Nadia' Inn big wooden houses mentioned above in the extract in the last paragraph is like damn nice u noe..in the midst of a hill n forest facing the sea..whoa heven...but at night its all totally dark coz unoccupied lahz..haha... we went into our rooms..nothing antastic lahz just a twin bed and 2 single beds..so 4 of us shared a room..toilet is in every room...but still only the necessities...no tv no nothing.. hm...by tt time we reach is like lunch time ba...lets see..wat did we eat neh..hm..oh shit i cant remember..hm..oh yahz we went to a 'restaurant' there to have chicken rice..haha..or rather our grp ate tt lahz coz its tt day's special...den we went back to our rooms to rot abit den we go play beach volleyball!hee...following tt we hit the sea~!!!!!!damn nice..haha its like..this is so natural so unman made unlike sentosa tt its so wonderfully nice to me...i sua gu mar..haven been out of spore ecept to JB so this is my furthest trip so far..hee...we played some games in the water like monkey n modified dog n bone..haha..actually the trip can be boring coz nothing much to do but we are SC programmers mar..so we can entertain ourselves..haha like wat jamie said, the conversations we have is totally un-intelligent..haha... after the beach thingy, some of us went back to the rooms others stayed to snorkel..mainly those guys ba...me having headache again..damn damn...slept abit while waiting for them to bath finish to have dinner....was feeling better aft tt short rest..we went to another 'restaurant' for dinner..chinese zhu chao.aft dinner we went 'shopping' in some shops they ate icecream n etc...poor me cant handle anything..bot flowerless vruit..wu hua guo la to prevent me from being the singapore icon, merlion.aft tt we went to the dive shop where the owner had kindly provided us with a TV for us to watch the sports camp SUX vcd..haha..nice nice...too bad the resoultaiton n stuff not gd...den we went to rooms again..to have another GM.general meeting lahz..haha...unofficial of course...the twin bed gave way under like 6 ppl sitting on it..hahaha....aft the GM me headache is better le...den we went out again to have ramily burger!haha...me shared 1 with junjie.50%stake in tt burger...whoa...the burger is damn nice!!!very gressy n stuff..the person making it is like so xi xin like putting his heart into making the burger..haha no kidding...yeh..we ate on the jetty n as usual have our un-intelligent' talks...bearing in mind tt its at night le..the stars were so bright n theres really ALOT of stars!!!hahaha....den we make our way back to our rooms...sleep time....anna cant sleep so she went to tt GM room to play games with other non-sleepers...me tired le so slept n slept... Day 2 (Sat) morning we have breakfast early coz we are going snorkelling!!!hahaha....breakfast is on the house...bee hoon n roti prata..den we make ourselves ready for the speed boat trip which we paid S$30 each to take us to a waterfall and to marine park.the water fall is actually in another part of tioman.coz the speed is not fast,slow in fact we took some time in getting there...n guess wat!!!!!!!we saw dolphines!!!!!!wahz!!!!!!aLOT of them..they travel in school mah...its damn nice!!!they really jumped out of the waters one...kinda far..but still..the pt is tt we saw them!!!!colin mentioned tt we r luncky coz ppl dun usually sight them in these areas...hahahaha...yeahz!!nice nice!!!!!!! den we were stopped by the police coast guards for awhile who took down our nanes etc den we went on our wat to the waterfall. we played games, tok cok on the boat n finally reached the waterfall!!!!!!climbed up quite some time to reach the waterfall..damn cool the water..can drink frm it also one...whoa whoa whoa!!!!!the waterfall is very nice...we took some photos..courtesy of fergus, our unoficial made official photograper..haha...we din stay there for long as we still gotta go marine park...den there we wore the snorkling masks n went into the waters to feel the fishes!!!we put the bread in mineral bottles and den when we in the water squeeze the bottle to release the bread...whoa once there's food, fishes will come to u manz...aLOT of them lohz..hahaha...tried to touch them...was quite abit scary at 1st but aft tt me even fed them using my hands....den we snorkel to shallow parts where there's sea urchins n some coral reefs..poor shuling got her sole of her feet stung by the evil urchins...ouch....but its not tt bad la...the person there told her to hit on the stings to hit out the ermz..hit out the sting to disintegrate it...luckily its not serious arz....den we make our way back to salang beach...the journey back is also slow...haha... when back, we hit the waters again..this time, we tried on suba diving..not really diving la but tried on the air tank n the waters just to have some bit of experience in diving...den we snorkel out to the sea...this time i din out on life jacket..haha only wore flippers...quite wierd wearing flippers coz din wear b4...but the speed when using flippers is fast lahz...haha htink its the flippers which gave me the confidence and 'strength' in not wearing the life jacket...another thing is tt when u snorkel, u wun sink coz u got air tt is keeping u up...but i went with 2 other who wore the life jacket just in case...the sight under water is like..whoa~~!!another world lohz..can see those things u see in nemo..haha..corals, reefs, those marine fishes colourful kind...those school of small fishes which really when moving together is like dancing...we even saw a big stingray!!!!!!hahahahaha...damn nice sia~~~but abit the frightening lah..coz its like 'intruding' in another world like tt...haha...but overall that snorkelling is way way way more fun than the marine park where we fed the fishes...coz more things to see... den we went back to bath etc...n have our dinner.this time is eat seafood...haha...got sting ray,sotong,big prawns etc...me din eat much coz allergic to seafood but still got steal some bites of the prawns..haha...1 prawn was wasted...coz it dropped on the floor...n junjie and yiwen held a shelling contest c who can shell off the prowns faster using folk and spoon.haha yiwen won..she's damn fast lohz... by the time we finish eating its quite late le...den we went to shops again to have some icecream etc...me din eat coz wana save space for ramily burger...but alas~~~the stall finish selling le..damn damn...den we bought tea ice..which is damn sweet...n went jetty again to talk...ughhh they were talking about supernatural stuff...haha..me was kinda scred lahz..coz afterall we are not in our own land own comfort zone..haha.... den we went back to yet another room to have some team bonding games...was quite fun..den we held a voting contest for the most outside standing award..silent 'killer' fergus won...haha..he's been silent taking photos for us..sometimes also reluctant to give up his camera just to help us take photos to capture the happy moments..yehz...haha..den we played murderer and den some ppl konked out...den we went to another room to play heart attack..haha its another kind of heart attack...haha..damn fun...in the end, adrian is forfeited to serve those playing breakfast and cuimei is forfeited to pull her ears til after breakfast. Day 3(Sun...last day...=( ) well..actually the heart attack was played at abt4 plus til like 7 plus where den we got ready for breakfast... adrain served us..hahaha....den after breakfast ppl wana sleep coz whole nite din sleep..haiz haiz... haha..me tired to get some ppl not to sleep but den well...as jamie said, just let them rest ba..so those who are still alive went to played vball!!hahaha...we hald a challenge...result was a hm...draw?hahaha...n this is where i got brunt!!!!damn...hahaha..damn burnt le..ouch...haha.. den we went to buy our ramily burger...but its not nice..coz we got it from another stall..haiz haiz... on our way the speed boat we went...this time, the speed is damn fast,...3 engin instead of the 2 in which we came...but the boat is gotta share with other ppl...den its damn fast tt we cant open the windows coz the waters very choppy n will have water sprayed in if we open the windows..guhhh damn hot inside lohz...me slept abit on the boat ride... we got to mersing den gotta wait for the bus at the jetty...soon after it bagan to rain..luckily when we at tioman its not raining..haha...gotta wait quite some time for other ppl coz we share coach...we played some games, asshole daidee, hunter etc..haha hunter was damn fun...the long ride is like damn short coz we have games to occupy ourselves..in fact, i'd say tt the bus ride seemes quite short..haiz haiz...coz we reached the checkpt le... after we got pur passpost stamped n chopped, me jamie angie n chumei left the rest..coz we got direct bus back home le..no pt travelling onwards liaoz..haiz haiz... really tired liaoz.. haha...but sad tt these 3 days passed by SO fast...the whole retreat is damn relaxing..to be able to get away frm everything n no need to think of stuff...its really damn nice!!!!hee... end product of the retreat: the programmers we got along more well know eacher better n more bonded with each other liaoz...another thing is tt all of us returned with a healthy or rather a brunt tan~like me..hahaha... and den...i slept last nite..only to wake up at 1pm this afternoon..haha...still tired now...oPps..sorry for the long entry...but it thingy... changes...damn there's so much changes n decisions tt makes me feel like im behind like tt..kinda like i have not managed to catch up with the changes n the decisions which comes along with tt.. tioman (which i haven really prepare mentally n physically as in packing etc for it....) jobs (which i have yet to find..damn damn..hope my fellow prog can find more canvassing for us...haiz haiz...) specialization (which is damn irritating...HR or Banking n finance??ughhh.....)but tts the least of my worries now though..hahaha time management haiz haiz ppl sch time worry abt time management i holiday den worry abt this...wtf~~hahahahaa went cheonging yesterday...think im still hang over frm last nite cheonging..as in mentally...haha like have not come back to reality yet like often....damn damn...could be the change of degree on my contact lens lohz..haiz haiz... oh well..yyahz tts y last nite slept earli n this mrn woke up so early...no worms though...hm... anyway i dreamt again...seems like recently i have alot of dreams...this time is i dreamt tt i went to a hounted toilet with a friend...1st time went to a toilet with a friend den the cubicle lights were off..so we got abit the...hm who wana pee in a unlit toilet marz thinking so we left...den another scence i went to the same toilet with another friend..haha this time to change into our bikinis...den as usual the lights were off in the cubicle..but we no time so we decided to change there and then..like someone keep watch on the door den the other 1 changed turning around lahz...den someone came past...but din push the door...a gril...was saying something abt the lghts being spoilt etc...den she left..hm...den another toilet scence..haha this time im with my clsmate..i've finishe watever im doing...waiting for her...quite long...den kinda like we were deciding wat to say to teacher...yahz got classes going on..hm...den scence changed to a bridge...on top of a river or sea..abit like the bridge in sentosa the swaying 1...anyway we were playing some games on the bridge den suddenly daph(xin) saw an insect den she jumped up(we were sitting down...)den the insect caused a commotion...we ended up having to jump bridge to the waters below...swam to shore..had to climb something similar to rock wall..eh no something similar to boulder wall...this is wat the programmers had planned so i had done tt alot of times so i was able to get tru with it n help other gals...so den dory cired coz she was stresssed..haha...den aft some time she managed to climb the wall...not only that she also tried out using other steps which requires more skills...haha....wat a dream....the haunted toilet part is creepy...its in nie according to my dream lahz...a door which says toilet u push in got a large space with 2 doors...males and females...toilet also quite big...whole place is dimly lit..except for the cubicles ulit..hm...den other than the door with toilets, theres also 2 other doors..hm 1 is like for dining the other i cant remember... hahahah wat a vivid dream...hm...i dun usualy remember m y dreams...but i make it a pt to remember...i like dreams...oh yahz...i woke up frm this dream crying also...hm but den i slept again n cont dreaming...hm... anywayz....hhaa...met up with the ppl yesterday..too bad i cant have dinner with them...mama tian eve...our family got diner..haiz
