it's supposed to be term break...but it does not feels like it....din get a chance to go out and have fun lehz...haa..as in din get a chance to go shopping too...haiz... well...so it shud mean that with all the time i did not have for the things i wanted to do, i shud pretty much had ALOT of time to do my fyp and assignments rite? nope..far from it...dunno what the hell im doing sia..wasting my time away like that...but got lar...dedicated like...2 or 3 days totally for fyp, den tues was for change mgmt project, the rest is for elaw...but read and read..still dun get what elaw is yakking abt...what anomalies sia...ughhh...driving me crazy....1st time i totally dunno how to do assignments... just found out few days ago that nxt wk got a quiz...luckily tutor postponed the quiz sia...psychology quiz..which i did not attend any lectures...nor did i go for tutorials...dangerous sia...haa...but mostly talking abt HR stuff..so not that bad...*cross fingers*...hee anywayz...spent the whole of yesterday...sleeping..manz..think i was only awake like 6 hours of the 24 hrs?hahahaha..slept til 12pm den woke up, den had a nap at ard 4-6pm..den dinner...den slept at 8 plus....til this morning woke up at...8...hahaha..best hor...wel..i had yet another headache mar...think i shall not nap in the afternon...seems that its causing my headaches manz....ughhh... ok enough of bitching...haiz...haa..well...im so freaking stressed...yar rite..as if...ermz...oh well...haa...nonsense... steph @ 2/25/2006 10:10:00 AM Wednesday, February 22, 2006 hmz...shall do a quick update... went to interview smrt today for my project...well...although i feel that i wasnt quite gd in the interview (we interviewed the E VP of smrt lar), but something good came out of it! i decided to work...haa..coz i've been toying with the idea of going nie aft grad...actually my initial plans were to work 1st..den c if i like working in the corporate world...den if dun like den i shall go nie...but recently i've been thinking of directly going into nie straight...thinking and thinking...but finally...today i've decided to go with the initial plans.... so going to catch up with the rest regarding job hunting...i've been so OFF in job hunting...manz...7 sisters...have to count on ur help!!!hee...and also, if got lobang, anyone, everyone reading..please let me know ya....im interested in HR (specifically training) or something outta my specialization maybe smt like marketing or something... also worried that i'll be too rush in job hunting and anyhow accept any offer..haa..but still a long way to go..still havent send our any resumes!!!!hee... nid to go shop for clothes le!!!!and shoes!ughh..so many things to buy...got money also no time lar...but nvm...heng i dun have money also..so not so dui...hee...no time coz even though it's my 1wk term break, i still got alot to do!!!! employment law assignment...dunno how to do...die le lar...and still got change mgmt project and assignment..dunno if my psyc got any assignments or not lehz..hmz...busy!!!!! but really glad and thankful that i've finally know what i am going for now. been confused over my career paths...now its still blurred no doubt, but at least i see a path...shall work towards it....but den...still..nid to get my basic sch work done sia..ughh..fyp sucks!!!!! steph @ 2/22/2006 01:22:00 AM Monday, February 13, 2006 Uniquely Singapore Race: 11th Feb - 12th Feb (photos to be uploaded) team: PAT jr P=Programmers, A=Alfie, T=Tomy, j=jingru, r=raving beauty steph muhaha..no lar..r stands for racheal, but she cant make it so i replaced her..and definately no regrets in joining!!! anywayz..the day started off with us meeting at summerset. registration and photo-taking(courtesy of tomy's camera!) anywayz, programmers also have another team, team Gingerbread (with a motto of Catch me if u can!) consisting of cuimei, binghui, isaac, fergus. the 2 teams! me and cuimei! catch us if u can! 1st checkpt: Skate park we made a mad rush---all 110 teams of 440 people, to go to skatepark, to get our clue to the next destination. got the clue, and deciphered it..almost went to fort canning instead...luckily jingru remembered it was another place... 2nd checkpt: Laborador Park we took a bus to the park..once alighted, once again, we RAN all the way UP to the station...manz..it was freaking hot..and our 1st station onli...and the way up wasnt really a short distance..quite long way up...nevertheless, we made it! got our next clue... that's the slope!!!! 3rd checkpt: China Street from Laborador park, we decided not to wait for shuttle. instead, we ran down frm the park to take a bus, and took the mrt to raffles mrt..also ran in search of a famous DON...=P DON our 'broken' legs taken on train...look at the perspiration on our faces! 4th Checkpt: Suntec fountain of wealth upon receiving our clue, we made our way back to the mrt and travelled one stop to cityhall. doors opened. and we cheonged out again! ran all the way, via the roads to suntec...took us a pretty short time too! hee...were asked to walk ard the fountain..too bad toto was the day before..=P 5th checkpt: Merlion Park same thing, we Ran also to the merlion park...have to run across a bridge lehz..manz...so hot somemore!!! thanks to tomy, who lent me his shades..else i'd had die-ed manz...had a detour, and we spinned and got our nxt venue... infront of the merlion... 6th checkpt: GMAX which is GMAX tower...so we made our way there...already we are like gonna die le..frm running, and the heat...gosh...but luckily we got to rest at GMAX. Alfie and jingru went up...so funny to see the GMAX thingy shoot up into the air..like a giant catapult like tt.. dun be fooled...he's not afraid at all! tks tomy! for the shades! 7th checkpt: Little India Arcade well, its henna at the same place we had for our ARSE...so we took mrt frm ckark quey to little india...and also ran and ran to search for the stationmaster...we had to draw the henna on our hands, of the logo of this event. tomy is our official henner who drew our henna... can u see us? looks like tortise..!!! 8th checkpt: Kampong Glam a mosque with golden domes...ran all the way there...whoa...we were supposed to buy lime magazine to solve the clue to the next station...but all sold out!!!coz grps who went to this station already bought them!!! so we went to bugis, and tried to solve this...its quite tough...managed to buy a lime mag there and did the crossword puzzle...well..and we arrived at the nxt station via mrt... 9th checkpt: Chinatown pt reached, and were told that this is a pit stop. coz the teams we all were so fast, that it was so unexpected and the organizers have no choice but to have a pit stop for all teams for ard 2 hrs...so we had our meal there at mac...shiok..and slept...was worried that our momentum would be slowed down..but...it didnt! re-charged! the task for this station was to make a lantern!!!with angbaos!!!manz...complicated can!haha..after we completed and got the clue, off we RAN again!!!! 10th checkpt: Geylang Durian took a bus to geylang. alighted near the station and ran along the street searching for the liulian shop..found it. had to buy a durian and eat it!!!the durians were not bad..quite nice..but we had to eat in a hurry!!!so sad can!!! hahaha...but at that pt, it was very competitive le..had to outrun other grps... yummy!!! what's with that look guys! 11th checkpt: Bedok (BCM) missed a train, hence other grps caught up with us...ughh..anywayz, we made our way to the nxt station, taking the mrt and bus to the bedok bak chor mee there...and got our nxt instructions. taken at aljunie mrt station... we are supposed to, according to the map given, hike to the destination...no public transport...and its a darn far journey can!!!!so funny...the 2 station masters were juz infront of us and we din c them...haa..anywayz...we managed to shake off the other grps and brisk walked to the destination... never too rush for photos with trex! 12th checkpt: east coast UDMC chalet.... and so, for the 1st day, we were the top 14th team!!!!yeah!!!!super high morale manz! hee...team gingerbread man was also very good!!!!they got 6th!!!!! battle of the teams! ordered pizza and naed at the ballroom/function rm of the lobby of the chalet... it was freaking cold at ntie manz!!!!in the foom...in the end, one by one we shuffled our way out to sleep outside. FYI, top 30 teams were inside the rm, the others sleep outside...so it was so cold that we juz went outside n slept...as jingru described...it was juz like a disaster place where ppl's bodies were littering the place...hahaha... the cold room... breakfast... anywayz, 2nd came. this is the impt part of the match. coz today's results will determine the position. not the day before. the 1st wave... WE WILL WIN THE WAR! 1st checkpt: MacRitchie Park this was where our mistake starts...we took the wrong bus..or smt lar..anywayz we took a longer time than the other teams to get to the checkpt....ran there also...met another team on the way....anywayz, we chose to do a water task. and tomy and jingru had to paddle the duck using canoe and paddles...haa..so funny when tomy cheated...laughed til pengz tomy!!dun cheat!!! 2nd checkpt: CCK blk 218 hmz...wierd to go to this place..haha...anywayz, we took bus to there..saw the same grp alighted and we juz alighted together also...and ran to the station...this station very kok also..asked for the meaning for some singlish and a conversation steph: eh ah beng, li ho bo? tomy: wah lao very leche leh steph: wana join uniquely spore race?but have to pontan sch lehz tomy: nvm lar boh charp lar...but have to win leh if not very paiseh lehz... 3rd checkpt: Qian Hu fish farm whoa..this gotta be the best station manz...know y...coz we ran all the way frm the bus stop of 172 bus stop into track14, to the farm!!!!such a long journey sia!!!up slope somemore!!!!acheivement...coz i din stop jogging up! though it was slow, but i din walk!!!and from this run up, really can see the determination of us all...tomy, jingru,alfie..we all wanted to get up there...good run guys!!!! task was to catch fishes..guppies...using a net...hahaha..i had fun there at this station..got different pattern of catching fishes one..nid skill also one!!!tomy's style was to kiap them between his net and the pond bed...it worked!haha..and we have to chase the fishes to our area also! fun fun fun!!! den we took the shuttle bus to the nxt destination...no way are we running back to civilization when the bus can accomodate us! hee... 4th checkpt: Sembawang Satay Club from the station, we alighted...many teams also alighted...den we ran towards the place...luckily the bus came and we juz boarded it...so we hit the station ahead...we had to peng satay there..and also lao yusheng...haa...and of coz finish it...hee...lets juz say that we all kept our eyes OPENED for the SMs and managed to down the yusheng at a fast rate! (to where i shall not mention!) 5th checkpt: Sembawang Hot Springs whoa...we also ran in manz...luckily jingru went ahead to recce 1st...ran in with few grps tagging behind...and we got to the infamous hot springs!cooked an egg there using the well water...tomy ate the egg..have to cook for 15 minutes - not more not less - to get half boiled egg lehz!!! coz water not tt hot lar... the well's behind us! where's our egg? inside! 6th checkpt: Upper Seletar Reservior luckily we saw a bus which took us there...so after alighting, we all RAN again to the tower thingy...also with other teams...shiong lehz..coz we all really tired le..and tomy pulled his muscle or smt...jingru had to help me carry my bag...so that i can run this stretch...he's damn fit can! haa...although my bag was lighter than yesterday lar...tks to him again! hahahaha....a secret among our team...den we have to climb to the top of the tower!!!!spiral stairs manz..crazy...dizzy... im on the, top of the tower, looking, down on the reservior! sponsored by bo kia.. 7th checkpt: Singapore Vistors' Centre we made our way to SVC...near the traffic lights, juz nice the traffic was gd, so the 4 of us cheong across the road!!!manz...leading again!hahaha...leading the other teams who took the same train as us lar...but the feeling of jay walking across such a busy road is shiok manz...anywayz we got our nxt destination... 8th checkpt:PS juz nice, we ran out of SVC and boarded the bus!!!but..we dunno where to find the station..as in which part of PS...was searching outside..den the other grps arrived..and they seemed to know where they were going..so we have to follow them..and the station was abseiling inside ps...cool sia..alfie did the abseiling... 9th checkpt: Scotts foodcourt...was the 1st foodcourt in a mall... another 1 hr pit stop...we were given 10bucks to go ard to connect names of food. we got young tou foo and ocean baked pasta...haa..and of coz our own meal...had a gd meal and rest! yummy!!!! 10th checkpt: Mosque at UOB Plaza what the hell..underground mos..hahaha...we din know abt it manz!!!we tot its the last checkpt already and its zouk..but its actualy at uob plaza...luckily we were resourceful manz...we knew things...such as highest building..and helpful friends...opps..hee...pit stop once again...for close to 2 hrs...so its basically a zhuoboh time...played cards and juz sat there taking photos etc... pose! dead!!! can see our leg muscles?haha...guess the most hairy legs belongs to who! the 3 guys... tor mee and me alfie and me small-eyes jing ru and me! last checkpt:Zouk manz...we reached zouk at the 22nd position...haa...expected lar... anywayz, we went in zouk, in our shorts and red polo tee...how many times can u go zouk in shorts manz!hahaha...my 1st time to zouk btw, aft its renovated lar...anywayz...how many times can u also get to sit down on the CLEAN floor of zouk...haha...anywayz...after a performancance by our iz, and price presentation and lucky draw, that marks the end of Uniquely Spore Race. finished! _________________________________________________________________ actually we already know that we cant make it to top 10....since the 2nd checkpt of this day ba...though morale was low at a pt, but nevertheless, we still ran to catch up with other teams, wanting to be ahead of other teams...hee..thats the fun thing manz! and of coz we know each other better, tolerance level higher...for jokes and lameness and other stuff...also we got to know other teams as well...talk kok with them while waiting for our turn at stations etc... and also, all the running ard has definately made me super tired!!!!legs were acheing like hell this morning! and still aching!!!!ughh...and think i also lost weight!haha..but have been eating back...today i ate alot manz..hahaha.. anywayz....remembered that i have i-pamper too!!! yay! hahaha... oh yar...happy v-day to all!!! =) steph @ 2/13/2006 10:40:00 PM Thursday, February 09, 2006 well...if u guys havent heard...i PASSED my driving!!!! 1st attempt 8pts deducted (only) muhahahhaa shall not how lian anymore...=P actually i though i would fail...the warmup at circuit was bad..really bad...strike kerb, directional change the car wun go into the slot, causing me to strike kerb like more than once...i tot i was gonner le...even my inst also was like...gave up on me... den i chose the route...tot it's gombak area..den i bio the map..and see..teck whye! hahaha...think its the same route as zhanwei...btw he took on the 4th...route 3..and also passed!!! haha..we same instructor....tks to him that i changed to his who is a gd one!! muhahahaha... anywayz...when i came back frm the test, i kok up abit...start car using 2nd gear (that is while turning into test centre lor!!!)else i'll have 6pts sia!!! hahahaha...nvm pass is pass...den i tot i fail le also...den instructor sat me down and told me it was gd...den he advise me..and den said...passed! wOooWooohahahaha so happy!!!!! anywayz...cant drive yet...coz dad's pickup insurance still haven settled..no 3rd party claims or smt lar...hope it'll be soon manz...cant wait to be pick-up steph! i nid to pass the test!!!and get my licence!!!! ughhh...stress..hahaha..not really lar...manz...quite gan cheong..but still ok...ermz.hahaha...anywayz mon is da DAY!!!! anywayz chinese new year!!!wishing everyone a gd year ahead!!!=P some photos... heaving the dog year in!
