just back frm a sec 3 camp (compassvale sec)...well, the camp was surprisingly fun, especially at the end of the camp, it was really rewarding! at first, i thought my class/group was okay and that they were just normal N.A kids. Boy was i wrong. my grouping wasnt well done. i shud had paid more attention to the leaders and got them in my group. i got those 'bad eggs' of the class...but never mind coz i though i was able to handle them. although there were some downs in my group, slowly i won them over. quite an accomplishment, especially i had this notorious boy in my group, who is a leader in his won way, but due to his 'act-seh-ness and wanna keep up with image' he kept the whole grp's morale at a low manz...with his dissapperance, his discouraging words and taunting at failures, it was indeed demoralizing for the grp and ewven for me especially at the rafting part. but it was also during this rafting session that i think i won him over. i spoke to him, prep talk him, and although he 'acted' as if he din care, he heard what i was saying. the real surprise and satisfaction was at the end of the camp when he wrote his evaluation form. true enough, although he was displeased with the camp in general, but his comments for his instructor was GOOD! haha..in fact, he wrote something like "you are a good instructor, but our class is just too uncooperative at times." something like that..and he ended off with a 'im sorry for this.' whoa...when i saw that, i really felt GOOD! haha cant describe how i felt, but really satisfying! overall, this camp was good, although for my group my C&C wasnt really there...cant control too much also, coz they already upset with the other instructors..haha..anywayz, at the end of the camp, while in the sch bus, all was super high!! really glad and happy. the bus ride back to sch was memorable.they were all cheering and cheering n singing thruout the WHOLE journey~!! din hear them cheer so much during the actual camp lor ..wasted..haha...oh yar..another accomplishment was that i also won over another notorious guy! this guy was also marked as notorious. but he's better than the one mentioned...as in he's not the 'big boss' type as the other one. this boy i can see that he wants to have fun, but due to 'face' he acted like he wanna rebel like that..so i got him to be my anchor man when we were doing high element. den i talked to him and thus won him over. when he was scolded by the cco, he got angry and with the other guys, he went off the place. so i go n get them back, and i spoke to them and turned to leave for the element with the parting words "i want to see you all back there now". and guess what..this boy actually was the first to stand up and follow me back! i was really happy, coz i know he just got scolded and was pissed, but yet he still went back with me! yeah! the other boys follow suit lar..haha... yupz..overall, the camp was indeed fun! haha...i enjoyed the trip back so much! instructors wise, well, i can say that there's really ALOT of new instructors...with the 3hr campfire..(damn shag lar!!) and new instructors, the campfire wasnt that ra-ra..maybe for my major grp and my grp even..those boys wun wan to cheer one..the ah bengs boys think they are too cool for cheers lor..sianz..a superlast min camp fire item with like 10min of prep and no rehersals...with a horase(me) instructor leading their cheers..whoa..shag manz..hahaha...i also liked the instructors coz can see that although they are new, they are learning...not like some old ones...who tot they know everything..hahahaha...no fingers pointed at anyone lar...but im still learning...machiam i feel like im like a newbie sia... as compared to my radin mas pri 5 camp, i enjoyed this camp more. although that camp tomy was there and i got someone to talk kok to and bitch to, but i just like sec sch camp more lar..haha..radin mas camp was like a chong chu jiang hu camp for both of us...old, but new..haha...many things changed indeed...now cant 1 cheer chuang tian xia le...the newbies all got combo cheers sia!! ughh..hahaha.. anywayz, i shud be all geared up for the next upcoming camp! westgrove pri 5 camp on mon-wed! hahaha...must be mad...3 camps all with a 2-day interval...old le..even with a 2day interval i still feel tired..last time back-to-back camps also wun tired one lor..i just need my voice back!!!! voiceless for this compassvale camp, cannot be for the other one lar..=p the nxt camp will be even more fun coz some programmers are also going! yeah!! so..can see that's y i haven been finding jobs...no time..hee...can something just land frm the sky?=p...no shit please... steph @ 5/26/2006 05:05:00 PM Tuesday, May 23, 2006 sometimes i wonder... when will i have the time and motivation to go and get a job? when will i ever settle down? when will i ever be free? when will i be able to meet up with all my friends? who, then, are my friends? what are they doing? why kids are so cute but noisy and irritating at times? why did i fall sick and lost my voice? how to be a very good instructor? why cant my memory be better? whats the hype about da vinci movie? what was i thinking when i agreed to do a kids camp this wed-fri? so many wonders...so many questions...well...i know the answers...just feel like lamenting...bitching...darn... steph @ 5/23/2006 11:45:00 AM Thursday, May 18, 2006 and of coz, aft the HR dinner, next UP was SIBU! programmers retreat!! photos i haven got all though...oh well...i didnt bring my camera because i figured that many would bring...yupz! 36 of us embarked on a journey together to Pulay SIBU! an undeveloped island in JB...somewhere lar in msia... the water was rusty, jellyfishes were sighted...scratch that..the sea was swarmed with jellyfishes...people were stung..me included...(tot i was going to die!!hahaha..) nemos n sea cucumbers were not seen (coz i didnt snorkel with them afterwards..)food wasnt enough...the uncle pissed coz we wanted more food...blackouts...and outbreaks...PERIODic attacks...but nevertheless...it was really a GREAT TRIP!!! best trip in years!!! knew more about the programmers individually, new jokes were made, old jokes remained..suanings and photo whorings...new calandar boy was 'elected', muah chees and sea-throwing tactics were carried out...toilet-sharing and bitching abt the rusty water...bbqing for each other...mini olympics...table tennis...fighting off jellyfishes together!...braving the waves on the floats...hunter sessions...and also the toothpaste episode...all equals to FUN! one word. my 'room-mates'! on the way trekking to the beach.. the wave riders! well...been some time since my last update. was pretty busy, the past weeks with tuition and work, followed by a programmers retreat and now that programmers retreat is over (with the objective met! yeah manz!) thus im left now with work (part-timing still at the dental clinic) and also with kids camp! shiong..got 3 camps upcoming, each week one. will be super tired out...-.- anyway, think i did not post any photos we took during our chalet at sentosa! well...here goes!!! the 6 of us..elin we missed you! exchange shades on our way UP!...i was alittle afraid though...high!!! beach girls! we played at..the merlion place..such fun! as if we were still kids...=) well..up next was departure for ah ni n debbie...den HR gathering... this is my other clique in HR! love this bumch of gers also!!! always have alot of gossips and etc to share one!!! fun projecting with them too!!! spot my fyp mates!!! guessed correctly?yupz!! really thankful for them as fyp partners!!! we rawk!!!that aH**D is MAD!!!!yucks!!! hahaha another dear friend, junie! miss studying with her!!! =) my PA partner...oh well..he intern, i temp there lar...JB...who always preach to me in office..and always win at pacman!!! gRRR!!!! but i won him in turkey game! hahaha me with huifang and the organiser of this gathering...huifang is very nice!she gave me a bottle of herbal tea once in school aft we discussed casually abt herbal teas!!how nice!!! presenting to you..HRC! steph @ 5/18/2006 12:04:00 PM Monday, May 08, 2006 5.30 am and i was up, getting ready to go to the airport to send debbie and sini off. they going to US for work and travel. well, it was rather emotional as we last hugged and waved our goodbyes and wished them well. they'll be back soon...with lots of stories to tell us! yeah! time really flies one. cant imagine if it's me who is travelling. who will send me off? how would i feel about leaving my safe harbour? who will i miss? and who will miss me when im not around? well, guess i wun have answers to this right now, as it seems that im stuck in singapore still...want to fulfil my wish of taking a non-budget airline. hehe...but i dun mind getting a job overseas...or being posted overseas...well...whereever i may be led to go. anywayz, mik is also leaving for US, also work n travel today. wasnt able to meet up with her before she leaves...sorry girl...but still, u'll have fun! just remember to take care! having said that, its also time to look forward to daph's return! ermz..not so soon lar...she'll fly bk to SGD on 24th May. 26th May- fly to Hongkong( 27th to 30th taiwan) 3rd June flying bk to SG! but with my church camp on 2-6th june, guess i'll see her aft that..miss her so much!! hahaha.. updates...i'm still looking for job, inactively though..infact, rather dormant le. been busy these few days also with my part-timing at the dental clinic. sometimes i have to work a full shift there, meaning, day, afternoon and nite shift!! but ok lar not that bad. i enjoyed working there, just that its time for me to move on, i need to find a stable (high pay hopefully) job. just that, no time, and no motivation to start an ACTIVE job hunt. haiz...also, been busy tuitioning also. my student's mid-year is coming, so tuitions are heavier these days. have to juggle tuitions with part time. well, so that takes up most of my time, and energy, so that expalins y im so busy even though exams are over. (in-fact, busier! but not bustier lar..haha..) well well...if im given a fishing rod, but i dun learn how to fish, guess i wun be able to fish for food even though i have the equipment.. so, i nid to learn how to cast the rod to fish!!! motivation needed!!! steph @ 5/08/2006 10:35:00 PM
