today's easter sunday! went church...brought Donald, my ex-colleauge frm Citi to church. Also, Ilona! glad you made it though ger!! =)! and also saw someone there! glad you came! =)

anywayz, today a story touched me...Setting : Korea, WW2...world war 2 lar...anywayz, was it a classroom?yar think so.

so the story goes...(something like this lar..)

ermz...something dropped..think a bomb or somethng lar..somewhere near the classroom. A girl was cut by shrapnel (Fragments from an exploded artillery shell, mine, or bomb.) Her leg was straight away amputated at the knees there... so she was sent to hospital immediately.

Upon one look at her, the doctor saw that she needed blood immediately. So he assembled the children and asked them who is willing to give up his/her blood to save the girl. "Would anyone here, be willing to use your blood to save this little girl?" the doctor asked the group of children.

Silence answered the doctor. After a while, a small hand raised at the back. It belonged to a little boy.

The nurses immediately laid the boy unto the bed, and prepared to draw the blood. While rubbing his arm with sterilized cotton, the boy started whimpering. The nurse told the boy gently that this won't hurt. She proceeded to use the needle to draw the blood. On seeing the needle, the boy started to cry. But he did not request to stop the process. The nurse jabbed the needle into the little boy's arm and started to draw blood. The boy's cries got louder and louder, but he did not ask for it to be stopped. After what seemed like eternity, the blood was finally drawn and used to save the girl.

The operation was a success. The girl was in a stabilized condition. The doctor called for the little boy. He asked the boy, "My boy, why did you cry? Was the drawing of blood painful?"

The boy shook his head. He said, "I though I was going to die. I though you were going to draw all my blood to save her."

The doctor was stunned for a moment. "You thought we were going to draw all your blood to save her? If you thought you were going to die, then why did you agree to do it?"

The boy simply said, "Because she is my friend. And I love her."
